As Much as I like Records Policy/Grading
As Much as I like records,
I only have so much time to listen to them. Because of this all gradings
are visual. Grading scale is standard Goldmine, or, as follows:
-
nm: unopened or just opened.
-
nm-: slight flaws that are indiscernable by ear.
-
vg++ or vg+: also known as ex, this is a very clean
record, maybe some slight surface noise.
-
vg: pretty clean but starting to notice some scratches,
scuffs etc that affect play. The cover has like seam, ring wear and faded
somewhat. The difference between a vg+ and vg record is greatest difference
between any two gradings.
-
vg-: pretty scratched; same as above but more so deteriorated.
Record may skip or have gashes, still pretty playable though.
-
good: also fair, poor. These are pretty scratched,
like a lot of dollar bin or thrift store records. Don't get this unless
totally desperate. Anything lower, I don't mess with.
Occasionally I will throw it on just to make sure. If you
have a problem with my grading and want to return the product; send back
record and get a refund (minus shipping).
Record codes, sometimes to save space, dealing with the record:
-
rw: ringwear on cover or back cover
-
sw: wear on seam
-
toc: tear on cover
-
ss: seam split
-
cc: cut corner
-
bb: cutout hole
-
h20: water damage
-
woc: writing on cover.
-
S/T: same or self titled.
